Just noticed the section on the IndyHub enews. Good luck with your project. I recently read "No Impact Man" by Colin Beavan. It follows Colin and his family living in NYC and trying to live "off the grid" for one year. The book is actually the Common Theme book for IUPUI this coming year. Hopefully this will mean he will be making a speaking appearance.
As I mentioned ... good luck with your project. We're trying to do something similar but on a smaller scale in terms of eating consumption. And I allow "Hubbard and Cravens" to suffice to fix my coffee addiction.

I will put in a request for the book at the library to read. I'm not sure if I think NYC would be easier or harder. There are so many options there...but a year is intense. I just finished a book called "Farewell by Subaru" by Doug Fine, which is just about him moving off the grid permanently. It was a great read.
